LETRA EXHIBITION
Oi Futuro Art and Technology Center – Ipanema – Rio de Janeiro
Curator: Alberto Saraiva

Helena Trindade poetically develops the concept of “Letra” (Letter) through writing, images and sounds.
She presents the visual poem “O Poder da Palavra através da Vidência” (The Power of Words through Clear Vision) in several configurations, including video-animation.
She also presents the video poems “Estilo das Facas” (Knife Style), “Gosto do Deserto” (Taste of the Desert), “Livro da Areia” (The Book of Sand) and “Gramática da Areia” (Grammar of the Sand) with references to the Brazilian poet João Cabral de Melo Neto, Jorge Luis Borges and the Rosetta stone.
These video poems were projected on the gallery walls and, as an urban intervention, they were projected on the facade of Oi Futuro Art and Technology Center building.
Helena approaches the poetic possibilities of the tension between visuality and the Letter as an essential signifier. This tension engenders the language games, typographic poetry and visual puns that animate her artistic research.
